Risk Factor of Stroke

There are two types of risk factors. These factors include the risk factors that can be controlled (modifiable) and the ones that are uncontrollable (non-modifiable).
Modifiable Risk Factors
- High blood pressure (hypertension)
- Diabetes
- Obesity
- Alcohol consumption
- Smoking
- Sedentary lifestyle
- Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) and other heart disease
Non-Modifiable Risk Factors
- Age
- Family history
- Race
- Gender
- Previous stroke, (TIA) or
- Heart attack
